Noise
Noise is Q Labs’ versioned forward-only pretraining benchmark, initially based on Dust’s 37.7M-parameter Transformer. It has separate speed-to-threshold and quality tracks, plus a later open-architecture track.
Contract And Limits
The 1.6-second record belongs to the archived 10M-token / loss-4.2 contract on eight H100s, with update-only timing. The later 30M-token / loss-3.5 track is a different task. It is a benchmark, not a new optimizer or a long-memory result.
